Start of Season for Belfast Lough Sailablity

07 February 2018

Belfast Lough Sailability (BLS) are back for the New Year, preparing both Volunteers and boats for the busy season ahead.

A lot of work is done in the background, cleaning, repairing and preparing boats to go into the water.  Stores are cleared out and stocks of protective clothing are cleaned up and renewed.  Most importantly, boating skills are practised, ensuring an enjoyable and safe visit for everyone visiting BLS in the following months.

BLS has been operating out of their base in the grounds of Carrickfergus Sailing Club for around twenty years.  Since then there has been a steady growth in the number of volunteers and participants with a subsequent increase in fleet.

Paul Bunting, BLS Chair said:

"I am delighted we are back for another year, developing our skills and having a great time sailing and power boating."

New volunteers and participants are always welcome.
