The Race is on for Marathon Volunteers!

02 March 2018

Volunteer Now is delighted to announce that volunteer recruitment is now open for The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon taking place on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 2018.

The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon, now in its 37th Year, is one of the leading Marathons in the UK and Ireland. The race starts at the Belfast City Hall and finishes at Ormeau Park. The route covers all areas of Belfast to include plenty of support from an enthusiastic and professional team of over 200 volunteers and local residents.

This event relies heavily on volunteer involvement to help the race run smoothly and  people are encouraged to volunteer for a range of tasks including;

  • Managing a Water Station/Energy Station
  • Acting as route marshals to direct participants
  • Working as part of a team at the Start and Finish areas to distribute packs and prizes.

Raquel Rodrigues Keenan, Events Officer, Volunteer Now explains:

“This is an iconic event in the Marathon calendar across the country and an opportunity to showcase Belfast at its best to visitors and participants. We would love to see our superb team of event volunteers grow and welcome new volunteers. If you would like to be part of a major scale event, promote Belfast and Northern Ireland and meet new people then join the team today!”

All volunteers will receive event training prior to Race Day, an official rain jacket and after the event, a commemorative medal for their involvement.
