Summer Scheme volunteers needed (Newry + Mourne)

23 May 2018

Are you in 6th or 7th Year, in the Greater Newry and Mourne Area, looking for some Summer Volunteering ?

The Confederation of Community Groups based at Ballybot House Newry and the Southern Health and Social Care Trust are offering students the chance to participate in a great Student Summer Scheme. This programme which has been running for many years, matches volunteers with disabled children to deliver therapeutic play sessions in their homes. The sessions have a wonderful impact on the children, and past students have thoroughly enjoyed the experience as well.

The scheme provides for the participants:

* Full training scheme delivered by Health and Social care professionals;

* Travel expenses;

* Recognition of volunteering hours through the Millennium Volunteer Award Scheme;

* Help and support throughout;

* A great opportunity to gain experience over the summer.

There will be a registration evening on Friday 25th May in Ballybot House Newry, 6.30-7.30pm so as not to conflict with exams, where students can come along with parents or friends, to ask questions and get registered for the scheme. There will be an additional registration evening on Wednesday 30th May, also in Ballybot House, 6.30-7.30pm.

If you would like to register for the evening or have any questions you can contact Ballybot House, on 028 302 61022 and ask for Conor.
