Thanks to the Department of Justice

11 June 2018

During Volunteers Week Volunteer Now, with support from the Department of Justice, completed 4 days of employer supported volunteering activities on behalf of several local charities.

There was a huge effort from everyone and an amazing output which will be so appreciated by all the charities.

The activities completed over the 4 days included;

3000 packets of sunflower seeds packed – not only promoting the popular community based Sunflower Festival but also supporting RSPB to create gardens full of gorgeous sunflowers!

4 boxes of jewellery and accessories priced – Oxfam average income from 1 box is several hundred pounds and the sale of 112 of stock can provide seeds, tools and training on farming techniques giving families the means to start a living.

Just under 1kg of stamps cut for sorting – RSPB get 20 per kg for sorted stamps. For every 1 we raise the Albatross Task Force can purchase a weight to sink tuna fishermen’s long line hooks away from danger to these magnificent birds.
