Volunteering in Health & Social Care

25 March 2014

The Public Health Agency and the Health and Social Care Board are currently consulting on a regional plan for Volunteering in Health and Social Care. The closing date for responses is 18 April 2014.

Volunteering has always played a significant role in supporting the delivery of Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland.  Volunteers add value to the work of staff  by providing befriending, meal time support, breast feeding support, driving and many other roles.  The  Health and Social Care Board have commissioned Volunteer Now to support the development of a three year regional plan for volunteering in partnership with the Public Health Agency and HSC Trusts across Northern Ireland.
