FareShare receives Belfast Healthy City Award

Volunteers required at FareShare's depot in Belfast

Congratulations to everybody at FareShare's Belfast Depot for picking up a World Health Organization - Belfast Healthy City Award for Promoting Health Equity in the city. It's recognition for the wonderful work of their volunteers.

FareShare were delighted to have recently welcomed Lord Mayor Nicola Mallon and team to the Belfast Depot. The visit provided the Lord Mayor with an opportunity to chat with some of their volunteers and hear first-hand about the positive work Fareshare is doing to alleviate food poverty in Northern Ireland.

FareShare believes no good food should be wasted. They work with industry to rescue surplus 'in-date' food from landfill and re-distribute it to charities throughout Northern Ireland which are providing meals to vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the community.
