Beyond Skin, as the lead organisation for the #Youth4 Peace initiative in Northern Ireland is delighted to announce that the Global Youth Peace Summit will take place from the 6th-10th March 2017 but volunteering opportunities will be available from the 5th.
The Summit will feature inspiring artists and speakers from across the globe and will be hosted in Ards&North Down, Ballycastle, City of Derry & Belfast. The Summit is the first of its kind Peace Summit to be hosted in Northern Ireland using the Arts as a tool for engagement, discussion and learning processes empowering young people as agents of change.
The outcomes and outputs of the summer will be gathers through creative processes to develop a Northern Ireland #youth4peace strategy and a post summit report will be developed and presented to the NI Executive.

Meet and Greet Volunteers
Volunteers should be open and welcoming ensuring that the guests at the Ibis Hotel (Castle Street, Belfast) have a friendly face to welcome them either before the leave in the morning or when they come back after a busy day. 2-3 volunteers per day would be welcome.
Volunteers with language skills - Spanish, French and Arabic most welcome. Conversational level acceptable. Volunteers should be 15+ but those under will need to accompanied by an adult or partnered with an adult if accepted.
The majority of the ‘work’ will take place on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th where young people from Schools and youth clubs will come to Girwood Hub, Belfast to undertake workshops. These discussions will help form the basis of the Strategy.
Approximately 20 volunteers are welcome to support the workshops throughout these 2 days, supporting roles such as registration, facilitation, minute taking, activities and evaluations. Over 1000 children and young people are expected to participate over the few days so it will be a busy, exhilarating and interesting role.
Volunteers should be well organised, fun, good communicators, good listeners, kind and patient. Volunteers with language skills - Spanish, French and Arabic most welcome. Conversational level acceptable. Volunteers should be 15+
Beyond Skin would welcome volunteer drivers to support the transport of the international guests. Key dates include: Monday 6th (travel to Mount Stewart and Bangor Town Hall) and Thursday 9th (Causeway Coast and Corrymeela)
Volunteers will be required to stay over at Corrymeela and take the guests to City of Derry on Friday 10th before returning to Corrymeela and Belfast.
Volunteer Drivers should have a clean driving licence and be able to drive a bus with a minimum of 9 seats.
2 volunteers required for this role. Volunteers should be punctual, warm and willing to support the participants throughout their journey.
Young volunteers (under the age of 25 years) will be eligible to receive their Millennium Volunteers Awards for the time that they give to these opportunities.
