Serious Incident Reporting

23 June 2017

The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland has statutory objectives to ensure charity trustees comply with their legal obligations in managing charities, and to increase public trust and confidence in charities.

They have introduced a requirement that all charities, no matter what their size or income, must report serious incidents to the Commission.

The Commission has now prepared draft guidance on Serious Incident Reporting which will help trustees to determine what a serious incident is and when they need to report on it.

The guidance is open for consultation until 5pm on 21 July 2017 so you could help shape the guidance before it is finalised and published later in 2017.
