Keeping Adults Safe: An Introduction

Based on the principles of good practice in safeguarding adults at risk as outlined in Keeping Adults Safe: A Shared Responsibility this half day certificated training programme covers:

  • Legal and policy context of adult safeguarding
  • Awareness of abuse issues
  • Procedures for reporting concerns
  • Code of behaviour for staff/volunteers.

Who is the training for?

This training programme is suitable for staff/volunteers who have limited and/or indirect contact with adults at risk (e.g. caretaker, receptionist, cleaner) but who need to have an understanding of adult safeguarding issues.

This training links to the objectives of Level 1 of the NIASP Training Strategy and framework. Click here for the NIASP Training Strategy.

How much does the training cost?

Keeping Adults Safe training is supported by the Health and Social Care Board. This funding ensures organisations can avail of free Keeping Adults Safe training delivered locally.

Who delivers the training?

Keeping Adults Safe training is delivered by qualified and accredited trainers with experience of safeguarding issues.

How long does the training take?

10.00am - 1.00pm.

Keeping Adults Safe: An Introduction is an interactive and participative training programme where participants will learn through presentation, group work and discussion.

Volunteer Now is launching a new one-to-one safeguarding policy support service, where you will meet a safeguarding expert to discuss the review/development of your safeguarding policy, procedures and guidelines against the recognised standards of best practice. You will also receive an action plan and information which will guide you on how to proceed following the session.
