Keeping Adults Safe

What is the training about?

Based on the principles of good practice in safeguarding vulnerable adults as outlined in 'Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, A Share Responsibility', this NEW one day certificated training programme covers:

  • awareness of vulnerability;
  • legal context of adult safeguarding;
  • awareness of abuse issues;
  • procedures for reporting concerns;
  • procedures for planning activities and assessing and managing risk;
  • confidentiality issues; and
  • code of behaviour for staff/volunteers.

Who is the training for?

This training programme is suitable for staff and volunteers who have regular and/or direct contact with vulnerable adults (e.g. leader, coach, care worker, support worker).

By the end of the training you will be able to:

  • outline the legal context of adult safeguarding;
  • discuss what abuse is and who abuses;
  • implement procedures for reporting concerns;
  • apply procedures for risk assessment;
  • implement a code of behaviour for staff and volunteers.
