Recruiting and Selecting Volunteers

This two day course is the recommended first step for people interested in developing their volunteer management practice.  The course looks at how to establish fair and consistent recruitment and selection processes and how to attract volunteers to their organisation.  The key message is that getting the right volunteers from the start is one of the best ways of ensuring effective volunteer management in the future.  Areas covered include:

  • establishing a recruitment procedure
  • designing volunteer role descriptions
  • marketing volunteer roles
  • setting selection steps that are compliant with legislation and best practice
  • and how to do all this in a manner suitable to your volunteers and organisation.

The course is stand alone but links closely to Managing and Motivating Volunteers which builds on the key topics covered.

Courses are available as accredited and unaccredited options.  OCNNI accreditation is 3 credits at level 2.
