Drew Murray

Drew Murray is somewhat of a ‘serial’ volunteer!   He currently volunteers for Age NI  as a befriender and visits a gentleman with the early stages of dementia.

Drew says:

'I visit John once a week and I could not have been matched with a more suitable person. John and I will take a walk for around 40 minutes which gives his wife time to enjoy her favourite soap on TV!”

Drew is also an avid fundraiser for various charities and tells us:

“I work for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and normally fit my volunteering in during the evening.  I got involved with Volunteer Now at a roadshow when it came to my work about 5 years ago and since then I have been fundraising for different charities including Children's Hospice, St Vincent De Paul, Action for Children, The Salvation Army and Helping Hand Charity.   I raised £4000 for the MRI Scanner Appeal and money for a sensory room and for seats for parents to stay with their child in The Children's Ward Antrim Area Hospital."
