Mild East Antrim Agewell Partnership

Based across Ballymena, Larne & Carrickfergus MEAAP aims to improve the lives of older people aged 60 years and over, through community led partnership initiatives. The Timebank is being developed as a peer support project led by trained brokers, who will be known as ambassadors. They will be responsible for developing and coordinating exchanges in their local area.

Aim of the association which is responsible of the TB:
Mid & East Antrim Age Well Partnership is a partnership constituted since May 2011, originally set up with the assistance from Age NI with the aim of improving the lives of older people (aged 60 years and over) in the Ballymena, Larne & Carrickfergus areas.

They utilise an interagency based partnership approach to tackle the many issues facing older people, involving over 40 members at present, and have just recently launched their three year “Ageing Well & Reaching Out’ Project in 2013 which includes the provision of Good Morning Services, Advice & Information services as well as the development of social activity programmes.

They meet on a quarterly basis with our member groups to discuss strategic opportunities for partnership and collaboration, and they are continually consulting with and collaborating with various voluntary and statutory sector organisations to identify new projects which can be delivered locally for the benefit of the local community and creating “a voice” for older people.
