Volunteers wanted for QUB Dietary Study
Are you interested in improving your diet?
Researchers at the Centre for Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast are undertaking the PAD-Q study to find out if personalised dietary advice, based on both markers of dietary intake measured in urine and a diet quality assessment, can improve diet quality and other risk factors for heart disease in participants across the island of Ireland.
Who are researchers looking for?
They are looking for volunteers who are 18 years or over, overweight, have a low diet quality score (assessed using a diet questionnaire) and have either high blood pressure, high cholesterol or who currently smoke).
What’s involved?
Participants will receive dietary advice via email at 2 timepoints during a 6-month study period. Participants will be required to attend the Centre for Public Health at the Royal Victoria Hospital on three occasions (baseline, 3 and 6 months) and asked to complete some questionnaires and provide blood and urine samples. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
