Pathway for Volunteering: Research Workshops
The Learning from Today, Prepared for Tomorrow report was launched in January and tells the story of the impact of the pandemic on volunteering. No area of volunteering remained undisrupted by the past two years, however, it has also been a time of great change and innovation. Therefore, we need to plan for the future.
The Volunteering Strategy for Northern Ireland: Join In Get Involved was launched in 2012. It needs to be reviewed and updated for the new environment we are working in now, with new people involved as volunteers, greater use of digital and many new roles. It also needs to reflect the challenges we face today: higher levels of social isolation, more focus on risk management, reduced numbers of older volunteers and greater shorter term involvement.
Volunteer Now is putting together a Pathway for Volunteering based on the research and the feedback from volunteer involving organisations. We plan to submit the Pathway document to the Department for Communities to help shape the updating of the Volunteering Strategy.
So please join us for one of our upcoming sessions to reflect on the research we have published and input to our Pathway for Volunteering:
