New NISRA Report on Wellbeing & Engagement
A new NISRA report shows that adults in Northern Ireland who volunteer have higher levels of life satisfaction and good health than people who do not volunteer. Volunteers are also less lonely than people who do not volunteer. This report provides evidence for many of the anecdotal positive stories of the life affirming benefits of volunteering!
This report also presents analysis on the relationship between engagement in culture, arts, heritage and sport and the following wellbeing metrics:
- life satisfaction
- self-efficacy
- locus of control
- loneliness
- general health
