FREE Webinars for Community Groups in The Mount & Ballymacarrett Areas

Volunteer Now, in partnership with NICVA and the Communities in Transition Project, are delivering 2 FREE webinars for community groups and their staff who manage volunteers and are working in The Mount and Ballymacarrett areas of East Belfast.

The first session is COVID Safe Events for Volunteer Managers on 12 January 2021, 10.30am-12.30pm.
As many organisations are preparing to deliver face-to-face events, festivals and workshops, it is important that Volunteer Managers are confident that they can keep their volunteers and the public safe.  During this session you will get important advice and guidance on your responsibilities towards volunteers and the public during a pandemic.

The session will cover your role as a Volunteer Manager, risk assessments, volunteer roles, safeguarding and more.  Click here to book your place.

The second session is Safeguarding: An Introduction to Keeping Adults & Children Safe on 14 January 2021, 10.30am-12.30pm.
Safeguarding both adults and children is about preventing the risk of harm from abuse or exploitation or having the ability to reduce it by raising awareness and supporting people in making informed decisions.  It is important that staff and volunteers understand the context of safeguarding within your organisation, including the legalities, responsibilities and boundaries.

This two hour session is suitable for staff, board members, directors and volunteers who have limited contact with adults and children through their work.  It covers the legal and policy context of adult and child safeguarding, categories of abuse, dealing with a disclosure, reporting procedures and boundaries for staff and volunteers.  Click here to book your place.

Volunteer Now is the lead organisation for promoting and supporting volunteering across Northern Ireland the we have developed these sessions as a response to the COVID crisis.
