Action on Hearing Loss Volunteering Campaign
Charity Action on Hearing Loss is encouraging people to make their New Year’s resolutions count by volunteering two hours a month to support people with deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss.
The charity has a wide range of volunteering opportunities available, including fundraising, attending information stands, giving talks to community groups and delivering hearing aid maintenance at monthly support sessions.
Volunteering can make a big difference to the life of someone with deafness, tinnitus or hearing loss, and it can also enable the volunteer to make new friends, improve their mental wellbeing and learn new skills.
Volunteer Erin Moore, 23, said: “Volunteering really helped me get the full time job now that I’ve wanted to have for such a long time. It’s the getting out and talking to people – going to different campaigns, staying at information stands, and sharing about my own personal experiences has really improved my confidence”.
The deadline for applications is Friday 8 February with induction days on Thursday 21 or Saturday 23 February. To apply, visit www.actiononhearingloss.org.uk/new-year-volunteer, or contact volunteeringni@hearingloss.org.uk, 028 9023 9619.
