Leadership and Good Governance Awards 2020
A New Year and a perfect opportunity to pay tribute to the many Trustees in Northern Ireland who give their time freely to ensure that good governance and leadership is essential for local charities to be effective, accountable and sustainable.
The Leadership and Good Governance Awards, organised by VSB Foundation in partnership with CO3 and Volunteer Now shine the spotlight on charity boards and trustees. These awards have grown in profile during the past four years and celebrate voluntary organisations which are working hard to improve their governance.
The three award categories are determined by organisational turnover and organisations should apply before Friday 14 February 2020.
Denise Hayward, Chief Executive, Volunteer Now explained “Volunteer Now is pleased to be supporting the Leadership and Good Governance Awards again this year. This is a challenging time for governance in the sector, with many organisations under pressure. These awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the great work going on in governance which underpins the delivery for so many beneficiaries.”
Charlene Brooks, Chief Executive, Parenting NI, winners of the 2018 award said “Being awarded the Good Governance Award for medium size charities is an acknowledgement of the robust mechanisms, systems and procedures in place within Parenting NI. A diverse and skilled Board support the work of an exceptional team ensuring that all parents, families and children who access services can be assured of the highest quality support”.
Nora Smith, CEO, CO3 commented “It is so important to highlight and recognize who is leading the way on good governance and the Good Governance Awards are a fantastic platform to do just that. In addition, for every nomination received two members from their board get complimentary membership to the CO3 Trustee Network for one year. This is our way of offering support and development opportunities for Trustees and Boards”.
