Postgraduate Certificate in Public Administration
The closing date for the Postgraduate Certificate in Public Administration has been extended to Friday 4 September 2020.
The Course
This stimulating and challenging course has been designed by Ulster University to develop the professional capacity of those working in or alongside the public sector and to ensure that existing spaces are managed in a manner that respects the rights, equality and diversity of all.
The course is delivered free of charge and will offer four modules to approximately 30 students drawn from the public, voluntary and community sectors in Newry, Mourne & Down District Council area.
It will run from September to May in 4 x 4 day blocks. Students will be required to do preparatory reading in advance of the module and to submit an assignment for assessment following the module.
Upon successful completion of the four modules, students will be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Administration.
Course Content
Core taught modules include:
- Public Administration and Governance
- Strategic Leadership
- Policy Analysis
- Applied Government: Becoming Agents of Change
Entry Requirements
Normally a UK second class honours degree, or better, in any discipline or the equivalent of this for international students. Additionally, applicants should normally have gained at least three years’ relevant work experience in a supervisory or managerial position.
