What inspired you to get involved?
My brother had been to Romania before and highly recommended I go.
What does your volunteering involve?
School Aid Romania is a cross community group which brings teenagers from different backgrounds
together to fund raise £500 each that will be used to benefit poverty stricken areas in Romania.
What skills or qualities are required for your volunteering role?
The ability to interact with children, work well within a team, organise fund raising events and have fun!
What do you enjoy most about volunteering and what has been your highlight?
The smile on children's faces when you show up is priceless. The fact that your presence and
company makes such a difference to peoples lives is a very rewarding experience. I made some life
long friends and memories I will never forget.
Why would you encourage others to become a Millennium Volunteer and what advice would
you give them?
Most definitely become a volunteer. It really opens your eyes and makes you thankful for what you
have. MV is a great way to keep track of all the volunteering that you do. It's great for UCAS and job applications so it's definitely something to get involved with.
