Where do you volunteer?
Saphara (Belfast/ India)

What inspired you to get involved?
A man came to my school and inspired everyone.

What does your volunteering involve?
Before, going to India, I raised a lot of money on behalf of Saphara. This year all the teams together raised over £70000, which was incredible. In India we taught for a full 2 weeks in 3 different schools every night and executing them each day.

What skills or qualities are required for your volunteering role?
We had to extremely hard-working, disciplined, determined, enthusiastic and have the strive to achieve perfection. So, that we could make every lesson as perfect as possible for the kids.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering and what has been your highlight?
I have came out of my shell so much since volunteering with Saphara due to all the support and encouragement they have given me. The best thing was forming relationships with all the kids. I will always stay with Saphara. In Summer 2016 I hope to go back to India.

Why would you encourage others to become a Millennium Volunteer and what advice would you give them?
I would encourage others to join because Volunteer Now recognizes and appreciates all the hard work you have done.
