More than 50 years of volunteering has kept Geraldine feeling young! Volunteer – it’s good for your health!
Geraldine Linford MBE from Co Antrim is involved in Girl Guiding and has been for over 50 years! She is a unit leader, trainer, tutor and mentor within Girl Guides but also finds time to volunteer for Broughshane Village Garden and in the select vestry of her local church.
Geraldine enjoys the social aspect and variety of her volunteering. She loves being involved with people, helping them to achieve their full potential and seeing the impact that her volunteering has on the local community.
Receiving an MBE for services to volunteering in Northern Ireland she is a great advocate for it and says ‘you definitely get far more back than you every put in. It keeps me feeling young, gets me out of the house and adds purpose to life’
