Volunteer Drivers

Volunteer driver holding a car door open for a service user

Volunteer Drivers support older people to attend healthcare appointments when they are unable to use public transport and do not have family or friends who are able to take them.  These people have been referred to us because they are unable to access these appointments alone due to older age and older age-related conditions.  This is an invaluable service to the people being supported and where possible, we will match the same volunteer to the same person allowing them to build a connection and confidence. If you would like to find out more about the role and how you can get involved, click here or contact Andrew Hanna on 028 9023 2020 / andrew.hanna@volunteernow.co.uk

Ards & North Down:  Volunteer Now’s Transport Scheme is funded by the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust and is provided for their Family and Childcare Department. Volunteer Drivers transport ‘looked after’ children to school or contact visits.  Volunteers must have full UK driving license and the use of a car.  Mileage expenses are reimbursed each month.  If you would like to find out more about the role and how you can get involved, click here or contact Judith (Parr) Ming on 028 9145 7916 / Judith.Parr@volunteernow.co.uk
